Here is the most recent version of the SplashEyeFly manual. Please be aware that the manual is a work in progress and new versions will be added as more installations are completed,

The Ground Targets are fixed points on the ground that can automatically be detected by the drone and are used to constantly recalibrate the landing area to ensure centimetre accuracy every jump.

Printed fabric banners are placed on shore like in the picture below. The banners are treated like check buoys - but check buoys that don't ever move and can be automatically detected and precisely located from the sky.

They are placed roughly in the locations as shown and then surveyed (total station or SurePath) just like regular check buoys.

No ramp sensor required. The system monitors the ramp visually and triggers when it detects a skier hitting the ramp.

SplashEyeFly works seamlessly with the traditional SplashEye scoreboard, the small windshield mounted boat scoreboard and the fantastic new SplashEye LED outdoor scoreboard. Some or all of these scoreboards can be used simultaneously by SplashEyeFly.

The base price option allows you to supply your own drone, but it must be the DJI Air 3 or Air 3S with RC-2 remote control.

These drones have been tested to ensure they meet all the system requirements for SplashEyeFly. Contact Us if you currently have a higher spec drone that you want to use and we will try to accomodate you.

SplashEyeFly comes with a range of pricing options from basic - supply your own drone - models to high end models with extra charging equipment, scoreboards, insurance and tournament backup options. Click the Request Pricing button on the SplashEyeFly page and we will send you a full pricelist.

After initial setup the drone comes home for battery change and back to the sky for measuring with a couple of taps on the remote control. No flying is needed during measurement. But it is important that someone is responsible for the drone at all times.

Accidents happen (we have lost a couple of drones during testing and development......normally by being stupid 😫). We strongly recommend that you purchase the DJI Care Refresh package when you buy the drone. This allows no-questions-asked replacement of drone and battery if you have an accident.

You are responsible for ensuring that the drone is flown according to local and national reulations at all times. Online tools are available to check if you are in a restricted area. The drone flys at 65m/215' so it is normally not a problem unless you are diectly under the approach flightpath of an airport or close to military installation. But please check before you buy
